As structural glass takes on load-bearing roles, real-time monitoring becomes increasingly important. In our recent paper published in Advanced Materials Technologies, we explore how invisible optical sensors, embedded using femtosecond laser technology, can enable strain and temperature monitoring without affecting strength or aesthetics.

Many thanks to Prof. Jeroen Missinne , Prof. Jan Belis , Prof. Geert Van Steenberge , and Viktor Geudens for their collaboration, and to Research Foundation Flanders - FWO for supporting this research. Looking forward to seeing how this technology can contribute to safer and more efficient glass structures.
